Once considered a stain on your resume, gaps between jobs are becoming more accepted. Recruiters are increasingly growing more forgiving of those jobless periods of time many of us experience. Bosses and hiring managers have begun to realize “long absences from the job market shouldn’t taint candidates,” in large part due to the labor shortage and the hardships brought on by the pandemic. One recruiter told The New York Times the past couple of years have “made me open my eyes.”
